Yep, not good. Mid spring should feel like a summer vibe.

Just hope for a 1983 analog... 83' was a great summer here, and that December was the coldest on record, wbich is perfect for my climate preference.

Current SST demise of El Nino is closest to what happened with the 1983 demise of El Nino.

Btw, at 6pm, I'm at 26C right now with 100% sunshine

High will be above 20°C tomorrow. Hell Monroe probably had a colder winter than London and still beat it to 20°C. Also London will hit 20°C May 5th.

Even with the record warmth this winter in the US, Connecticut was certainly colder than London. Not 20C, but Chicago reached 18C in February. Also 23C on March 8th

I wonder if there has been any winter when we were warmer than London. I know they were very cold in the winter of 1963, but so were we. Maybe the warmest winter here on record 1932? That Jan we had an avg high of 52.2 and avg low of 40.2F. I wonder if our Jan 1932 was warmer than Jan 1932 in London.

Yes, it's been pretty hot there, and Italy has had some heat, Germany some reasonable warmth too. But France, Spain and the UK have had nothing at all.

Spain is the most surprising. Iberia is going through a cool spell, which is quite unusual. No doubt summer will still be hot there though.

While London's waiting for 20C, we're still waiting for 15C (or 14C for that matter, which we even managed in the second half of December). No 15C forecast for us any time soon so it will be quite late - these are the dates we've hit 15C for the first time in recent years:

2010 - 10 April
2011 - 23 March
2012 - 25 March
2013 - 14 April
2014 - 1 April
2015 - 5 April

Jan 1932 in Oxford had an agreement high of 9.8c and a low of 3.5c. In London in sure it would've been between the 10-11c mark.

But what was the mean temp in Jan of 1932 in London? If any winter month here would have at least tied or exceeded London that would have to be it. Our Jan monthly mean is 10F less than London. That is a very hard mean temp for us to exceed in winter. Think about that for a moment. Here we are at 40N lat and our Jan monthly mean is 10F less than London at 52N in January. Pathetic isn't it? That is why I say North America is a climate fail.
