Portland by a hair. Denver has good sunshine hours and redeemable summer night lows, but its winter lows are just extreme. At least Portland is more stable and comfortable all year round.
I usually choose Denver in most polls as it's one of the more "intense" seasonal climates that I like but I'll actually take Portland because it's seasonal yet still mild, it's actually a pretty good climate and if it had higher sunshine hours I think it'd be a favorite among many.
I voted Denver (my current residence) for the sunshine, seasons and snow. I like snow during the winter, but not constant grey skies. A rainy winter sounds quite depressing to me. The winter lows aren't all that bad, considering you sleep through 7-8 hours of it
