lol. It's my love part of the coast. Check out inland more..
Hartford & Newark hit 90°. Still only 70s and near 80 at CT coast. I'm at 83.6° now.
I'm at 88F. I like that I'm inland enough to cook compared to the immediate coast, although the sea breeze is still a menace at times. I'm glad the heat is dry today, we get a chance to ease into it.
We're starting to cap out. Wonder if Hartford(HFD) will hit 92.
Notice Hartford (BDL/Windsor Locks) dropped 2 degrees. Some clouds over them.

Mid upper 70s/low 80s CT coast vs Upper 80s and 90s inland. Big enough difference.
I think the Sea Breeze is north of Long Island (on the sound). That's why I wasn't pointing out Long Island earlier. They seemed to have heated up more than the CT coast.
Look at the MA capes. Nice! lol What are the water temps around there? 50s?
Clouded over? Convective instability or something else? Heat created pop-up thunderstorms north of Albany. Dew points aren't high, but perhaps the lapse rate is steeper than usual. Chicopee station has had dews in the 40s, doesn't sound like conditions for pop-up thunderstorms. It looks almost frontal, but it can't be a front. Yep, shortwave:
Did a quick update to include isolated to widely scattered
showers/sprinkles over Western MA in response to a short wave
trough moving across Northern New England. Most of these showers
will likely erode/diminish as airmass ahead of these showers is
very dry with dew pts in the low 40s along with downslope west-
northwest winds. Thus not expecting much if any shower activity
east of the Worcester hills. Otherwise remainder of the forecast
is on track. Earlier discussion below.
Huh, I haven't checked the discussions in a while, haven't seen the new non-caps lock format. I'm going to italicized the discussion I'm quoting to make it clear which is my writing and which isn't. Didn't bother bother when it was all caps.

Yeah, I mentioned I'd be needing to put them in quotes now. Extra steps for us. It's too hot to rant about the lowercase. lol
Looks like a little kink in the flow aloft causing the clouds/showers. Clouds just entered NW CT. Mt Bear and Greylock are cloudy now. Pittsfield down to 78.
Their are a few places in NYC that hit 90F. I don't think Central Park though.
