We just had a typical Vancouver thunder "storm" a few minutes ago - one flash of lightning followed by a rumble of thunder a couple seconds later. That's probably all we're going to get unfortunately, but at least it's something (and the thunderclap was louder than what we normally get here - so I guess that's a plus...)

The last time I remember having any sort of thunder or lightning here was in 2014, and the last time I experienced a proper thunderstorm season was in Saskatoon in 2012. Definitely starting to miss my summer storms...

I think the NWS is being a little too antsy with the frost advisories down here. I'm doubtful it'll be dropping into the mid 30s. Upper 30s is looking more likely.

forecast here is 38. 50 right now. I took 0 chances especially since i live in the countryside where temps will be cooler than 38. Moved my tomatoes, eggplant and bell peppers into the garage for the night, they are still potted but some will get too big soon so I have to put them in ground but not yet, the average last frost date for Raleigh is April 4, so I plan to put them in ground in a week or so, or this weekend if the longer range forecast looks alright enough.

Predicted low in Raleigh is 34 F per the NWS. Where are you getting the 38 from?

Weather.com. I trust nws more though and used there frost advisory as a warning to bring my plants in. I would not be surprised if Raleigh didn't fall to 34 but out here in the countryside, 0 uhi effect for sure we will get at least some light frost.

Low temp forecast tonight. Nice cold night. I got clear skies and smell of firewood in the air. Crisp.
