Are you sure about that lol? Atlanta and Charlotte have less humid summers than Raleigh and slightly cooler temps.

Lol you think Raleigh has comfortable summers? I don't want comfortable summers. New Orleans and Savannah are bit too hot but at least summer is supposed to be hot, I don't want 70s and 80s in winter.

Weirdly the wind is blowing super hard, it's pouring, lightning is flashing every second but no sound of thunder! Power even went out for a bit

thunderstorms are the saving grace of all the humidity in the southern summers, nothing more exciting weather wise than a thunderstorm to me, as long as the power doesnt go out. I could never be happy long term in supposedly perfect climate like san diego with so little rain. the afternoon and evenings, especially a good storm some nice dark clouds forming and a nice wind, after all the humidity in the day is what makes southern summers so sultry

Heard some rumbles of thunder finally and had some CG action, but most of it is contained in the clouds, some very nice rain along also! Very good keeping me out of drought! nvmmmm , AS I type this I SAW THE MOST EPIC CG STRIKE EVER, THE BOLT WAS THICKKKKKKK IT WAS SO THICKKKKK. Mannnnn. I will catch one on camera I have too. Would be epic.

You have it all. Sunny in the morning, then watch the little wispy clouds just blow up into huge cumulonimbuses, and the epic thunderstorm ensues. Cool breezes from the downdraft, and overcast skies for the rest of the day.

All that exciting comfort, and yet you have people who swear that the coastal US South is hell on Earth. Give me a break.

I wish the South had stronger winters. If you could get southern summers with Upper Midwest winters that would make me a very happy man.
