91F/33C at ORD and 88F/31C at MDW.. probably a little lake breeze component on the south side of the city today. My station has been off line since yesterday
different pattern than us; northeast brings the lowest dewpoints there. It's northwest here; dry air requires airflow from Quebec?
Yeah, air from Canada (which Kentucky can get as well if pattern is right and jet dips that far down) is drier and even if its muggy in Winnipeg and Ontario by time that air flows down to us its modified a drys out a bit. So instead of 50s it would be low 60s that time.
If you look at my post from 3:47pm you'll see our flow was coming from Ontario and central Canada and originating from the Pacific. But by time it came to us it wasnt humid. Plus you got the surface high pressure strength and location. Its almost right over us.
"Did you know that corn sweats? The more scientific term is evapotranspiration, and it causes very high humidity values in the Midwest. Couple that with hot temperatures, and you get some brutal heat indices"

So if it wasn't for the corn the dew points would be a lot lower across a large area of the midwest? It does seem to me that the midwest records pretty extreme dew points. Are there any other places in the world with those DPs at those latitudes?
It was a tad disappointing though thinking your water would be more tropical in color, and lol NJ beaches were actually much more appealing to look at with whiter sand and bluer water.
NJ gets a terrible rep nationally for the beaches, yet you will never see water like this on the GA coast.
