Recently two cities near me received 8 to 10 inches of rain on thursday (11th). Using the 1 inch of rain equal one foot of snow if this rainstorm had happened in December would these cities been buried in 8 to 10 feet of snow?

This just happened again in the exact same area! And again only once so far, now it's just distant flashes. Crazy.

My low this morning was 80F, first occurrence for me since I left NYC 2.5 years ago. NWS forecasting 100F in NYC today, should see some insane heat index values. Also forecasting a 79F low for Islip, which is probably more impressive than 100F in NYC.
