For a whole week it didn't get above freezing, then a week after that it was over 20C!

Vancouver had average precipitation (with one day of snow near the beginning of the month) and slightly above average temperatures. Overall a fairly unremarkable month, just typical Vancouver winter weather.

The theme for January was rain, and lots of it. My PWS measured 14.50" of rain in January, just shy of December's 14.66". I'm not on my PC but I believe that's a bit over double the average for January here. Temperatures were pretty normal (50s for highs, a couple 60ish days, mostly 40s and 30s for lows).

I've been noticing the days getting longer and the sun's power is getting stronger by the day

Let's see what February have in store for us. We have lost our snowpack, but should get some reinforcements the next days.

Ariete, are you?

Scandinavian guys: in those kind of coldzilla months, do you go outside sometimes? or you just live inside the entire month?

Average High: 28.6C
Average Low: 17.7C
Highest Max: 40.0C
Highest Low: 22.3C
Lowest Max: 19.2C
Lowest Low: 12.7 C
Rainfall: 315.8mm
Sunshine: 198.0*

*Sydney's sunshine hours records are getting inoperative nowadays. The past months had so many days which lacked sunshine hours data. This month, we had one day (14th) where the sunshine hours were missing. If this month had sunshine recorded everyday, the monthly tally would've been around 207 hours to the least.

Sunshine data is getting crap for other places aswell. Gaps are appearing everywhere. Must be cost cutting at the BOM. Useless

What do the parenthesis mean? Your record high and low matched my February last year, average low was much warmer.
