Makes sense if it's an American saying. I always thought it was first used here, which is confusing because April is a dry and settled month, whereas March rains more often and is showery, like the past 3 days.

Nice shower weather those past few days indeed! Saw great cloudscapes this weekend in northern France, the kind you don't really see down on the Riviera. Lotsa sunshowers yesterday just after the windstorm.

Not much of a cloudscape on Saturday though.

Quite the change in landscape between Marseille and Lyon this time of year. Provence is largely evergreen and most deciduous trees are leafing out, whereas north of the 45° parallel the deciduous forests look as dead as in January for the most part.

Grey skies over Lille:

Lille doesn't look like Nice.

Here comes the sun! Daffodils still out.

The bradford pears in Doylestown, Bucks county - 45 minutes north of Philadelphia. About 3-4 days away from peak bloom. Perhaps the 70 degree reading predicted on Thursday will push them over the edge

Great photos, I like the ones with the old buildings next to a grassy square the best. Nice photo of a stork? You must have gotten close to it

Took these pics on Friday and Saturday this past weekend. Most trees still look leafless, with most budding out. I found some that were already fully leafed.

Bradford Pears were all in full bloom all over the city on Friday.

Some trees fully leafed already on Saturday.

Some evergreen azaelas (bloom earlier than deciduous azaelas) are starting to pop.

Some nice blooming tree, not sure what it is. Notice the leafless sycamores on the street.

Friday night while walking to a friends house I noticed these nice looking camellias blooming. Their house is around a block away from the Delaware River. A very large nice looking southern magnolia was nearby but was too dark for a pic.
