Cold News, Minn. Town Wins 'Icebox of the Nation'
INTERNATIONAL FALLS, Minn. - International Falls is officially the "Icebox of the Nation."
The city on the Canadian border had been fighting the ski town of Fraser, Colo., for the legal right to the trademark. International Falls claimed victory this week when the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office sent the city attorney a certificate granting the community Reg. No. 3,375,139.

What an excellent award for the town, eh?
It is quite isolated up there, though.

That's kind of funny cause I'll bet that isn't surprising to any of us. They always have the low in the Battle of the Iceboxes.

Quite an award! It should've went to Tower, MN though, or does the town have to have more than 10,000 people or something to qualify?

Eh, I don't think so. International Falls has around 4500 people or less and the county has around 13,000.
Current WC in International Falls is around -45F.
Chicago will have a high of around 2F tommorrow.

Embarass, MN is another super cold place. In fact, they're generally colder then International Falls.
