Shantou has the same temperatures as Guangzhou but 350 hours more sunshine:

Not surprised that Miami is winning at all.

1. The only hardcore coldie left is Shalop (Kaul, SiberianHigh and PatriciusMaximus no longer come here). Surprised Shalop voted for San Francisco over the South Pole though (I think the other three coldies would have certainly chosen it). There are plenty of four seasons lovers left though and several heat lovers as well.
2. Many of those four seasons lovers want a hot summer with humidity, thunderstorms, and warm, humid nights and those ocean moderated climates don't provide enough of that. If they can't get a "proper" continental winter with snow, they still want a "proper" summer.
3. Related to reason 2, weather drama > comfortable, predictable weather for many weather geeks. Miami provides far more of that than any of the other climates with hurricane threats for 6 months, very frequent thunderstorms, some of them quite intense, flash flooding, with possible tornado outbreaks in winter and spring.
4. Miami is the sunniest of the bunch because all the rain comes down fast and hard while the other climates on here have their share of wasted overcast.

There are of course breaks from the rain but when it's not raining in the summer it's more than likely than not to be cloudy/hazy. San Francisco seemed way sunnier and the air much fresher to me than Guangzhou despite being much cooler. That part of China has the worst subtropical climates in the world to me. Aside from the hot temperatures, there are no redeeming qualities for me.

Many 4season lovers here are warm biased, think Chicagogeorge, Ariete, Glacierx. They adore winter for variety.

Example of cold biased 4season lovers is Owen

I like 4 seasons climates the best but Miami is certainly not among my favorite climates listed here.
