Dug some new potatoes today, nice golf ball sized ones. There are potatoes all over the property from old patches over the years. There are a few different species in the night shade family around here, both native and naturalised, so wild potatoes don't look out of place.

New season broccoli from the tunnel house as well.

-82C in Vostok on 12th July. I think that's the coldest officially recorded temp on Earth since 2008.

Concordia would be another contender...

It's like the snow is teasing me. It covers the mountains around my town but it just won't fall on my town.

the -5C are São Joaquim, its at -4.8C right now,and are the coldest in the Country.

Many peoples think that City/Towns in Brazil cant get all that Cold, but that not true at all,the Southern Region have an Mild climate in general, but sometimes in Winter, temperatures can get well below freezing like today

Why don't you just go up the mountain to get your snow fix then? That's what people here in Vancouver do in winter when they want snow. You can be up in the snow in less than an hour from downtown here if you want

Yeah, but for a hike i guess, because the ski resort is more a luxury for people here than for canadians there, for sure.

However, if im not mistaken, i saw some photos of snow in Esquel in the proper town, but in the highest neighborhoods. And it snowed over the track of "La Trochita", the touristic train of Esquel area :

For instance, in Bariloche it snowed in most of the city yesterday:

---

In other news, yesterday was the coldest day of the year so far here: 1.9ºC/10ºC. I did a walk when it was 6ºC outside. It fell cold but the air is so refreshing in days like these. I love that.

Right now 7.1ºC in Iguazú at midday, yeah, near the famous tropical waterfalls.
