534dam line reaching well into Southern Brazil would be amazing, look the Low east of the Southeastern South America Coast, giving moisture to the Continent, freezing temperatures+moisture = You know,as a Weather lover, but still being a Brazilian,I dont know if i want to that to happens or no,because something like this event would destroy the farmers crops.

Cool seasonable dawn on Most of South-Central South America, below average on most of Patagonia.

Changing the continent to finish,an photo taken of the Drakensberg range divide last days,Lesotho to the Left, and South Africa to the right:

Freemeteo shows a great area of snowfall on Southern Brazil for the next sunday:

Lows arent being so "low" on Southern Patagonia, that may be because of the constant cloud cover, with snow falling there, temperature doesnt descrease too much, according to what I seen, the lowest was -8.6C in Gobernador Gregores, but they are having cold daily highs,17hrs temperature on some Patagonia Towns:

Snowed in Rio Gallegos,on the Dry Eastern coast of Patagonia, looking like some North America town.

I know, but I thought the temps could still change a bit inland, considering that there is a high mountain range to the west, which blocks the mild marine air?

Here in Sydney, there is a dramatic temperature change in a 20km radius (colder winter nights and hotter summer days).

Honestly even this cold is nothing compared to North America. Places like Syracuse and Buffalo can get this sort of weather in April. Puerto Madryn's high would be near record warmth in many places in North America at that latitude

As I said, constant cloud cover, result of an Low Pressure passing trough Southern Patagonia(snowfall photos I posted above result of it too),dont let temperatures drops too much.
To that happens, are need to have the combination of a clear skies with a constant Very Cold Southern Flow, that combination could lead to severe cold waves like 2000,2002,2007,2010 and 2013 being the last.

I took this from the Chilean weather service, thats from 2002 in Balmaceda(45S/500m).

(Lows on the left and Highs on the right.)

Look how it goes from a mild 7.7C/4.4C to -14C/-27.7C,This instability and severe Cold outbreaks are the reason for the Deciduous Forests there(the only in Southern Hemisphere),if you look Australia and New Zealand at same Latitude and Altitude you will see the difference huge difference on the environment, none Aussie or NZ tree could survive to thoses very cold temperatures for days.

No,they could not, they are adapted to cold averages and snow, but not for extreme cold events.
