^^

But what happens if the PV splits beyond mid November could be a whole new ballgame (go Cubs lol). Winter may smack us in the face come around Thanksgiving.

That's a month away, between now and thanksgiving a lot can change. It could end up weakening not splitting, or both pieces end up on the other side of the globe. Or 1 piece ends up over Alaska rather than us. To say with certainty that winter will smack us come thanksgiving is rather hasty, could it yes but will it who knows. Has the SSW gotten under way yet?

Louisville has appreciably warmer nights than even areas further south near the Tennessee border. I've been wondering about how far out from the city that has an effect. Would the suburbs be no different from here? Or maybe lower elevation and being near the river plays a role too.

Very large diurnal ranges today, should see a high around 71 today, already up to 62 which is a 20 degree warmup in past few hours. Tomorrow should be near or at 80 in many parts of the state of NC but Raleigh will be in the mid to upper 70s. Then we will get another cool down Tuesday before warming back up to 70s Friday and into the first week of November.
