I think the past few years the Northeast is developing a pronounced seasonal lag. Scorching hot August/September, warm autumns and December, and then all the snow breaks out in January and doesnt seem to end until April. Maybe the warming waters of the Atlantic play a part in this

Amherst has averaged 1.8°F above normal month to date; harder to notice above average weather as it feels normal — just the weather we had a few weeks ago. But even normal late October temperatures feel chilly compared to what I'm used to
