21. Our average high for August so far is 88.5, over 8 degrees above average with 7 days in the 90s including 4 straight.

Most 90 degree days in a year
1. 1952 32
2. 1955 29
2. 1949 29
4. 1973 25
5. 1959 23
6. 1988 22
6. 1947 22
6. 1944 22
9. 2016 21

We can easily get to 23 and probably to 25 but 29 is unlikely.

So far we are up to 13 days with 90+. Today felt like the hottest day of summer easily. 93 F and humid as fuuuuck. Hopefully that will be our last 90.

We got into the low 90's in the New York area, for the 14th time this summer (I think). I suspect the unusual, sauna-like humidity and almost Caribbean-like thunderstorms result from the presence in the deep south of remnants of a tropical depression.

22. Our second 95 degree day today! Low of 78 would be our highest since at least 2000. This makes 2016 in a 4-way tie for 6th most 90s.
