Is this the same argument we had about Atlanta not being crowded because more people drive than walk?
Atlanta is the world's largest village, or so I'm told.
These two urban areas have the same population, so I can well believe it. Most of Atlanta wouldn't feel like a city at all, just a few high-rise clusters surrounded by car parks and freeways, but I guess to some people that's what a city is all about.

Kansas City is even more ridiculous with its level of sprawl - more freeway lane miles relative to population than any other city in the US. It's so spread-out here "secondary city-centres" are developing on the far-out fringes of the southwestern suburban areas.

That sounds heavenly. Lexington gets severely bottlenecked because there is no interstate going through the city.
