I've often wondered something. Do I have more of a tendency to ride in Accords on mild winter days or cold winter days? Note: if a day is counted twice/thrice, it means that there were multiple Accords that day, and hence the date gets more weight according to the Accord count. Accord. Stats are for Bowling Green, KY.

Let's break it down month-by-month. Complete list of days are in the enclosed image.

Average temperature for December: 47.9/29.2 F (8.8/-1.6 C) - avg. 38.6 F (3.6 C)
Average temp on Dec. Accord days: 56.2/36.1 F (13.4/2.3 C) - avg. 46.2 F (7.8 C)
Departure: +8.3/+6.9 F (+4.6/+3.7 C) - avg. +7.6 F (4.2 C)

Average temperature for January: 45.0/26.4 F (7.2/-3.1 C) - avg. 35.7 F (2.0 C)
Average temp on Jan. Accord days: 49.2/25.4 F (9.6/-3.7 C) - avg. 37.3 F (2.9 C)
Departure: +4.2/-1.0 F (2.4/-0.6 C) - avg. +1.6 F (0.9 C)

Average temperature for February: 50.0/29.6 F (10.0/-1.3 C) - avg. 39.8 F (4.4 C)
Average temp on Feb. Accord days: 43.3/26.0 F (6.3/-3.3 C) - avg. 34.6 F (1.5 C)
Departure: -6.7/-3.6 F (-3.7/-2.0 C) - avg. -5.2 F (-2.9 C)

Average winter temperature: 47.6/28.4 F (8.7/-2.0 C) - avg. 38.0 F (3.4 C)
Avg. temp on Accord days: 49.4/29.4 F (9.7/-1.5 C) - avg. 39.4 F (4.1 C)

Overall, the average temperature on winter Accord days is only slightly warmer than the 1981-2010 winter average. This is likely due to the presence of December 2015, which had 10 out of 51 of the Accords (the most of any individual winter month).

December synopsis:
Spoiler
Due in large part to the torch of a December 2015, which carried 10 of the 18 Accords, this month ended well above average. If Dec. 2015's Accords were not included, the remaining 8 would average at 48.2 F/29.2 F, pretty much on the dot average.
The highs ranged from 34 - 72 F (3 - 22 C) - Dec. 31, 2014 & Dec. 27, 2015 respectively
The means ranged from 27 - 62 F (-3 to 17 C) - Dec. 11, 2016 & Dec. 11, 2015 resp.
The lows ranged from 15 - 53 F (-9 to 12 C) - Dec. 11, 2016 & Dec. 11, 2015 resp.

January synopsis:
Spoiler

January's Accord days only numbered 13 (the lowest of any month), but were diverse, including both frigid and mild days. Diurnal range tended toward the high side, meaning that highs were warmer than average but lows were slightly colder than average. The overall Accord day average was only slightly warmer than the typical January average.
The highs ranged from 26 - 72 F (-3 to 22 C).
The means ranged from 14 - 63 F (-10 to 17 C).
The lows ranged from 2 - 54 F (-17 to 12 C).
Jan. 29, 2014 held the cold records, and Jan. 31, 2016 the heat records.

February synopsis:
Spoiler

This month averaged well below average, likely due in part to the winter 2014 polar vortex and random chance. 5 out of 20 Accords of this month were ridden in on days that failed to get above freezing, and none of the 20 days could be considered warm. Lots of low diurnal range days kept the highs low.
The highs ranged from 26 - 63 F (-3 to 17 C). Feb. 6, 2014 & Feb. 2, 2012 respectively.
The means ranged from 19 - 51 F (-7 to 11 C). Feb. 7, 2014 & Feb. 3, 2016 respectively.
The lows ranged from 10 - 42 F (-12 to 6 C). Feb. 7, 2014 & Feb. 22, 2016 respectively.
*Tied with Feb. 3, 2016.

In other news, it's my birthday today!

I thought it was cool that at the top of the page when I logged in this morning, it had a little banner that wished me a happy birthday.

The bad thing is it's Wednesday, and because of work and other obligations, Wednesdays always turn into 12-hour days with only a 2-3 hour break included in that. The good thing, though, is that I've got a good chunk of time off beginning Friday.

Here's CCTV footage of the nazi kicking the guy killed in Helsinki in September. One kick and the head in the pavement is all that was needed. Disgusting.

People don't often realise that all it takes is one blow to the head to kill someone. In fact, I'm pretty sure in Germany punching someone in the head can be considered attempted murder (this might be false though - maybe a German user can clarify).

The prosecutor demands 6 years in prison for aggravated assault and involuntary manslaugher. What makes it complicated is that the victim was hospitalised and released six days later, and the next day he died. The defence will use this card into the end.

it'll depend on the autopsy results.
