I have great news, AccuWeather upped coldest temp from -3 to 10. That would save the sabal palms from defoliating. Maybe just maybe my friends sago will pull through, it pulled through 15 degrees last year easy. I'm still being cautious but now that the snow pack that was predicted is gone, with the melting if sun comes out early, we can push through and have a good winter. First 70 of the year on the way possibly by the end of the week God willing. Our uv index under a full sun is 3 now!

I wouldn't get too excited if I were you. You've been near or below freezing since early this morning...tonight is forecast to drop down to 10 F/-14 C, high of only in the mid-to-upper 20s tomorrow, and down to 3 F/-16 C tomorrow night. Not expected to rise above freezing until Tuesday. Even if it's a few degrees warmer, it's still cold. I don't see a high near 70 F. Probably 60s.

Sorry, but you live in a climate with a very high standard deviation. It's North Carolina, not Miami. Even the balmy Gulf Coast is experiencing sub-freezing temperatures.

Really? You realize we average 1-2 70 degrees in January right? This is not new jersey. The lows you see were forecast yesterday based on the assumption of a deep snowpack which frankly is not there. I still see my grass buddy. Not too mention this is an atypical year. In the end not you , the forecasters, or I know what will happen. Only God knows, and God willing we are much warmer.
