Now it looks like rain falling but the air temp is 31° so it's actually freezing rain. Shovel handle has thin layer of ice now.

3" total of new snow and sleet

2pm temps and radar. Summer in Virginia. Winter in NYC. Sunny and 80s in VA. Low 30s in NYC.

Actually raining on Long Island and in NYC and Ice now Bridgeport and Danbury.

Last 4 hours. 10:15am-2:15pm. Watch Long Island change to rain and Bridgeport and Danbury change to ice.

My buddy just got off the plane back from Boston he said it went from winter to summer in a split second. Can't imagine what it feels like going from freezing to more than 26c. High so far has been 83, 1 short of the all time record.

In the 80s in Virginia? What in the world? Light rain here in southwestern NJ. 42 degrees F. Earlier today, my relatives in northern and northwestern NJ were dealing with sleet, snow, freezing rain and even hail at one point, according to my BIL. Roads are a mess up there. Winds are supposed to pick up tonight and be gusty all day tomorrow, with gusts 60 mph at times.

Boston is a very nice city, but today, I am glad I am not in Boston!

There's a wildfire nearby causing it to smell like smoke outside. I think it was worsened/able to form by the hot (high 89°F/31°C), dry (dp in the 40s F) weather yesterday.

Usually March we see these crazy gradients. Wonder if the heat is a sign. Once the polar jet retreats to Canada in April, hello Hot Spring in Northeast?

And with 80s comes....... Convection. Is it summer time? See the little yellow dots on the radar. Storms firing up. Crazy. So they issued a Severe Storm potential outlined in yellow. While a heavy snow & mixed precip potential outlined in Blue to the north.

Vegetation-wise it looks similar to March, but temp-wise more similar to mid-May right now with a temp of 85F (29.4C).

Dewpoint is 61F.
