My timelapse captured exactly when the snow started. 3:10am. Then changed to rain at 4am.

Only have patches of snow around... Looks like Nei getting some snow this morning. And close points north of me too.

Clear case of what winds off the ocean does to "light" precip with temps below freezing at 4500'.

Doesn't matter 850mb is below freezing, with winds off warmer waters AND with precip so light, it's raining at the CT coast. But snowing just minutes from the CT coast. If precip was heavier then the snow would of lasted longer at the coast. But the air has warmed up as well at the surface now upper 30s to low 40s.

The coast can kill as well as provide big snowstorms.

Has to warm up eventually, the pattern does not support constant cold but rather transient cold shots. The pattern is not locked in, all it would take is a trough in the GOA and mild pacific air floods the CONUS. Now if there was something blocking the cold in then the situation would be different. Bastardi is being too optimistic in expecting the cold all winter. Just as easily as it moved here it can move back.
