A warm and dry month, with close to average sunshine. It was the warmest August since 2003, and the sunniest since 2005 (despite having below average sun hours). Probably the most normal August we have seen since 2004/2005.

Warm August in Chicago. Highs weren't exceptional, but consistently above average. Lows were more exceptional having 23 nights of 21C+ temps at MDW. Data for my town isn't calculated yet...

August for 3 of the stations listed ended up being warmer and drier than July with Bridgeport having the warmest August on record. BDL ended up with a cooler and wetter August compared to July.
