I find it amusing that when my sister moved from California (our home state) to Oklahoma three years ago, people looked at her big-eyed and said they would NEVER live in California because we have earthquakes and that just terrified them! When she mentioned tornadoes, they just laughed and brushed that off as no big deal.

Well, now they have both tornadoes and earthquakes. I think I'll stay here.

Wastewater injection doesn't directly cause earthquakes. But the water makes it easier for faults to slip.

In all fairness, the earthquakes are man-made.
