September 2016 in Rimini, Italy:



This month has been mild, dominated by stable weather although totally lacked any heat or real warm spell, like the rest of the summer.

Rimini-Miramare airport data (comparison with 1971-2000 averages):
Average high: 25.3°C (+0.8°C)
Average mean: 20.7°C (+1.3°C)
Average low: 16.2°C (+1.8°C)
Extremes:
Highs: 20.6°C/28.2°C
Lows: 11.2°C/19.6°C
Rainfall: 74 mm (+3 mm)
Rainy days: 6 (-1 day)
Mean humidity: 83%

September was again above average, but not as much as in Central Europe. The same theme continued; stable conditions and quite boring.

Hi: 17.3C (+2.4)
lo: 8.4 (+1.2)
mean: (+1.9)

Highest: 21.5C (7th)
lowest: 1.1C (18th) Very early !!!

17mm of the rainfall fell during the last two days.

For the other large urban centres:



BTW, Helsinki had the wettest summer on record.

September in Malta was around average, with slightly cooler than average daytime temperatures & higher than average night time temperatures. Sunshine was a little below average & rainfall was well below average, with most falling in one thunderstorm.

Below are the stats from my PWS in St Paul's Bay:

Mean Maximum: 28.4°C (-0.2°C)
Mean Minimum: 24.3°C (+0.6°C)
Overall Mean: 26.4°C (-0.2°C)

Monthly Rainfall total: 17.0mm (25%)
Rainfall days: 9 days
Max rainfall in one day: 9.9mm (25th)
Days with Thunder: 4
Days with Hail: 0

Highest daily maximum temperature: 31.6°C (3rd)
Lowest daily maximum temperature: 24.1°C (28th)
Highest daily minimum temperature: 27.1°C (6th)
Lowest daily minimum temperature: 21.2°C (29th)

Days with sunshine: 30
Hours of sunshine: 239.0 Hrs (94%)

My station stats along with those from the Malta Met Office site at Luqa Airport:

Don't you mean 0.2 above average rather than below for monthly mean, just doing the math, -0.2 and +0.6 is +0.4 divided by 2 is +0.2

Crazy. Is Malta a desert already? The lack of rainfall is rediculous.

September was warmer than average for the eighth consecutive year, according to statistics from the Finnish Meteorological Institute FMI. Records show that average temperatures in Lapland were up to four degrees above the norm.
