Corvallis, Oregon official weather station:

Average Max = 64.2 (17.9), 2.7 (1.5) below long term average
Average Min = 46.7 (8.2), 4.6 (2.6) above long term average

With daytime highs depressed and night time lows elevated one would guess there were a lot of clouds this month. Yup, we got - maybe - 80 to 90 hours of sunshine for the entire month. It's been a long time since we had as gloomy October as this one.
Precipitation for the month was 10.94 inches (277.9 mm). That's nearly 9 inches (228 mm) above long term. We checked in with 300% normal making this the wettest October in 130 years. Since this was also a slightly warmer than average month, we didn't get a whole lot of snow in the Cascades for all that wet.

We got a bit of a scare mid month when forecast models agreed we'd get hit with a monster storm with central pressures in the 27.9 to 28.1 (944 to 952 millibar) range and wind gusts topping 100 mph at exposed locations. Didn't happen but the 6+ inches of rainfall the system brought to us contributed to our generally high rainfall totals.

Driest October ever in SE Alaska. Yakutat usually gets 22 inches in the month.

The previous low was just under 7 inches, and this year it was 3!

For us 29th warmest since 1871 using ORD which is the official station in Chicago, but MDW had it's 7th warmest Mean on record going back to 1928. ORD just seems to always be one of the cooler stations. If MDW was the official station it's mean temp of 59.2F would rank 11th warmest.
