Been through a few stretches of -20 to -30 F here in Alaska. The hottest I've ever been at a singular point in time was in Death Valley (seriously... so hot .... I had to take a nap to recover...)
I used to live in Memphis, and that was the hottest place I've experienced regularly. Those stretches of 98 to 102 degrees for days is pretty brutal. Thank god for front porches with shade!
July in Phoenix; it hit 120 degrees. I was talking a Motorcycle Safety Foundation class....on a black-top parking lot, with helmet, gloves, boots (which meant socks for me), all required. 3 days in a row.

How long ago was that, because our temp hasn't officially hit or exceeded 120°F since July 28th of 1995
Coldest: about -28°C in January 2006 in my city. Yes, I did go outside in the morning, which is typically the coldest time of the day. I don't recall it feeling particularly cold, although it was 10 years ago and I was only 10 years old back then. I remember seeing huge snowdrifts, however.
Hottest: about 40°C again, in my city, in August 2010. It was really hot, but I don't remember whether I have really experienced such hot temperature or I was inside then.
For The USA,
Here in Chicago a couple of years ago. I think it reached - 16 Fahrenheit ( -27 C ). So that was pretty cold.
Warmest was when I was in Oklahoma..110 Fahrenheit I think. That was disgusting.
