We are well overdue a good May; the last one was in 2008.

Daffodils are out, so spring is certainly on it's way.

I'm sick of 'winter' now. Seeing what's been going on in Europe has made me a bit jealous tbh. I know these places are much more continental, and are indeed more prone to such cold and snowy conditions, but I'm a little sad to have missed out tbh.
Anyway, mid-late February is usually when you can feel spring here. The sun at last has some noticeable strength, and there's usually a bit of colour about with the daffodils.

March 2012 and April 2011 were certainly exciting times here! What was amazing though is that April 2011 saw no single air frost, then early May got quite a few even with that background mild air that had broken through Then that summer turned out to be meh-ish weather-wise with June, July and August highs of 21C pretty much all summer.

Ideal spring:

March 2014 (although 2013 and 2015 were also good)
April 2007
May 1967 - Obviously not around to witness this, but the average high was only 62 F/17 C and low 35 F/2 C. Max high for the month was only 78 F/26 C.

Is it Spring yet? I'm not looking forward to the pattern change end of this month and into February. Might not be extreme but I'm done with the cold.

Why, I bet all it will take is one threat of a snowstorm and you will be drooling and begging for winter till may.
