Only half of the month can be this cold IMO! Hopefully we have 80°F temps or higher starting the 4th week of March after a 3rd week in the 60's! Then AMJ and JJA are the warmest on record! SON is average with September being above average, October bang on average, and November being below average. DJF of 2017-2018 then become the coldest on record after two bad winters!

I am hoping for a lot here as this scenario is very unlikely... But having a milder DJF than 2015-2016 was unlikely too. LOL

I would think they would be alright, what is the rest of the week looking like? All these azalea and garden festivals in the south in April farther up the coast are going be in trouble, azaleas are already showing at simons island last week when were sailing up there . Florida has its big azalea festival this weekend

Overnight Euro model update says we have the biggest snowstorm in 14 months next weekend.

Forget that right now ... It's 17°F outside here right now.

3 Maps..

Current temps outside.. 30s down south too, even local spots in Florida. Well below normal from Maine to Florida.

Feels like single digits outside here

Here is why ... Jet stream dipping down in the Northeast. This is the temps at 5000'. I didn't realize we were under the whites (-20C or colder aloft). That's below 0 F°.. Impressive Airmass over us for March.

This air mass is leaving but the cold down at surface staying and High pressure moving in setting the stage for radiational cooling tonight.

Dropped well below forecast once more. All peach crops are gone. Why tf are we the coldest spot on map. This is bs, not a break cambium but the destruction of everything. Once more just like in January raleigh is alone in what happens to it.

And its still below freezing at 8am in the Raleigh area. Yeah, if the Peach crops were growing then they might be destroyed. Happened here last year and in February oddly.

Looks like that's just at the coast. 50s and 60s inland in south Florida and on West coast

Above freezing now though, this is terrible we dropped the 25, a good 3-4 degrees below forecast. I'll check my peaches later today, no hope though.
