Yep, a subtropical low to the NE of the upper North Island, that had stalled due to a high that's been sitting at quite a low latitude. Totals around 250mm, with up to another 200mm forecast. Quite warm, with overnight minimums up to 20C. Quite a bit of damage and some quite severe thunder apparently.

Models appointing an chilly saturday to northeastern Argentina,Uruguay and Southern Brazil, lots of sub 10C/50F :
So far but the European model on it last run is showing a polar blast by next month, -15C anomalies over Paraguay,I guess it would result in near freezing conditions there, it also show the polar air reaching the Amazon.
