Should we start thinking of Major flooding coming? Luckily no rapid warmups and no big rain storms coming. Maybe end of month.

Sorry, here's New England view with AccuPro map. Using 10:1. it'll be higher ratios up there so add some inches. This is not the forecast, or what will happen, just a possibility of what could. Either way... ITS ALOT! lol

As far as what, 10" instead of 15"? 24" instead of 15"? Rain instead of snow? Forecast from today or tomorrow? and for who???? What is criteria for a bust?

Weather forecasters here were predicting 15cm of snow for us (the city) last week with the news headlines saying a winter storm was coming.

... We ended up getting a dusting and the storm bypassed west.

Predicting when??? 2hrs before? 24? 36hrs before? Big differences. Gotta stay on top of forecasts even 6 hrs before. Things change, nothing set in stone for exacts. It happens. Trust me, I know. Glad I'm not a forecaster, I just use the tools they use (models) to forecast and show that.

A big difference between the forecast and reality. 15 --> 10 is not a bust, but 15 --> 3 is.

It just ticks me off when the media hypes up a big storm and we end up getting a bit of wind but hardly any snow. I generally don't follow any news but can't avoid it on the cars radio during my commute.

Within 48hrs of start time here.. quick snippet from NWS NY forecasters...

"Based on competing factors and current uncertainty...still thinking
12 to 18 inches of snowfall is a solid most likely solution for
much of the region...with locally up to 2 ft possible in
heaviest and longest duration banding"

For this area to get under 6" the storm would have to shift 250 miles east or west. Doesnt happen within 2 days. But doesnt mean we cant get just 10" instead still.

Tomorrow more details gets more confidence.
