Just had a quick thunderstorm. Started as being very humid and cloudy with thunder for close to an hour and then had a brief but heavy 10 minute downpour with some hail. Now it's back to overcast and the occasional rumble of thunder.

The high was 86. The last 5 days have had highs of 84, 85, 85, 87, 86 which is the most heat we've had since June and the closest thing to a heatwave this year.

The airport has reported thunderstorms but hasn't recorded even a trace of rain today. The neighborhood PWS recorded 0.40". Must have been very localized.

Today, highs of some places in Turkey

Southeastern Turkey:

Silopi: 45.6℃ (Town)
Cizre: 45.2℃ (Town)
Batman: 43.4℃ (Provincial Capital)

Eastern Turkey:

Muş: 38℃ (Provincial Capital)
Ağrı: 35.7℃ (Provincial Capital)
Ardahan: 31.8℃ (Provincial Capital)
Göle: 29.5℃ (Town)

In Turkey,

Cizre and Silopi are the hottest towns in Summer.

Göle is the coldest town in winter. Because of continental climate, it has warm highs in Summer.

Unfortunately, only Provincial Capitals publish their averages. Towns don't publish their averages.
