How did you get so lush so fast with that intense dryness you had going on and very strong sun?
When we are in bad drought it takes a lot of rain to turn grass and plants lush instead of all browned and dried out looking. I really dislike endless sunny drought conditions.
I don't know how it happens here but it does...we can have months of drought and just a couple of days will make everything just as green and lush as it would have been had it been raining the whole time.
Rain stayed to my north today . 100% Overcast each of the past 4 days here.
I guess I like a "hardcore" summer environment. Nothing says "summer" like an intense noon sun, a 90 F air temperature, a dew point of 75-77 F with a huge, dark convective cloud in the horizon.
Hoping to see lots of that when I go to Daytona in a few weeks
We actually didn't really have a spring drought this year. April had a day with 4.23" of precipitation quite late in the month which I suppose helps. May was drier than normal, but wasn't dry enough to really cause much browning of the grass and whatnot, though down by Miami when I got back from Europe on May 30th things were quite brown down there. This spring hasn't quite been as dry as recent years, at least here.
Also, June has been quite cloudy with very frequent rain. I suppose the clouds blocking the intense June sun helps in maintaining everything nice and lush.
It's been substantially drier down here than up where you live. That day in April was a non-event here.
Just had a tornado-warned storm pass by us right now. The center of rotation went about two miles north of me, we got some very heavy rain, high winds and a HUGE lightning storm. This is the type of storm I've been waiting for. A couple of small branches from a tree that's near my house got downed but that's about it.
