I worked night today. I was pretty fine with it. Of course, I forgot that there are no buses at 5 AM. I live 5km away. It's not that long to walk, but it's like 0'C and it takes an hour, and I'd rather sleep for that hour instead...
Man, that's a b*tch. But at least it's not winter.
I worked those kind of hours over Christmas, you don't realize how cold it can get until you're walking around at those hours.
So walk 5K in the middle of the night as an alternative? I don't think so.
I'm talking about the uncomfortable hours pay. I get 4£ per hour extra for working night, and so 4h of night becomes 16£. A cab ride home would've cost 15£. A completely idiotic option. Besides, 15£/h is a pretty good wage for a 18 yo to just walk around in the middle of the night.
My jacket is warm as well, and it was kinda cool as well being in a city that sleeps with a geography that never sleeps. I'll post some pictures in the spring thread.
