True, without counting the Canary Islands, there isn't anywhere in mainland Spain warmer in winter than much of the SoCal coast, specially from Los Angeles to San Diego.

Also Palm Desert, etc and those places inland have quite warmer winter highs than anywhere in mainland Spain or, better said, the whole Europe.

Although San Diego has an almost akin climate in Spain (Almería) the winters are slightly warmer in San Diego. Funny how 1ºN more at the south in Mexico, the winters have cooler lows than San Diego.

The urban heat island in San Diego probably is the reason for that and the SD station might be closer the ocean.

Go to Vista or La Mesa just a little inland and away from the heat island and the average lows in December and January are around 6-7C.

wow, so then has the same winters as Almería then, if the highs are 18ºC and the lows 7ºC in January, as in Almería the highs in January are 17ºC (well, 16.9 exactly) and the lows 8.3ºC, 17/8 to round it.

I take profit of this post to say. I'm still not believing what I just found. I wanted to make a thread about the climate of Santander and I found this...

A sequoia forest near Santander. lol!

That kind of messing with ecology never ends well. Didn't these people learn anything from Jurassic Park?

Well, those Sequoias from the north of Spain were planted about 60-70 years ago. In this case I'll show natural forests of Spain:

4 of the pics from above (not the last ones) are even from the south of Spain. Almost can't distinguish them from the north... Razza, this is for showing unknown landscapes of Spain, btw...

I know, right?

Not a problem, they are all beautiful pics, I suppose that most of the people who will see them would enjoy those great landscapes.

Even if voted Spain, let's see what California has when it comes to forest. Damn France is saving USA again, like in 177X. History is such an eternal restart :]

I don't know these forests, I just know they are Californians, and absolutely stunning
