Not to nitpick too much, but BC is closer to 4 times the size of the UK . UK is 242,495 square km, BC is 944,735 square km.

I chose B.C. The Okanagan Valley just doesn't exist in the UK.

As for Vancouver versus London climate wise, Vancouver hands down. Dryer and longer summer usually. Besides, on a beautiful warm day, I'd rather be sitting on a beach with ocean scented breezes and mountain views, than by the Thames.

......and more dry days throughout the year - we don't need to hibernate for 5 months of the year either .

Quite a difficult one, as neither is really my type of climate.

In the end it comes down to record lows, and the UK fares better in that regard.

I also included Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey as part of the definition of the British Isles which includes more than just the UK. I'm still undecided... some of the South coast English climates like Portsmouth as well as Jersey and Guernsey look really good.

Vancouver Airport is on the water and therefore colder. Downtown is definitely warmer. Not so more rainy days if using the 1 mm threshold.

Vancouver is wetter than London but sunnier especially in summer, calling it tons worse than London is silly.
That's interesting. I didn't know about it. How do they measure rain hours in Europe or the east coast?

takes all sorts i guess
Vancouver has stable, sunny summers, and it is overall sunnier than SE England by 300 hours. That amount of sunshine can always compensate for its "tons more rain and drizzle". And I never said that I dislike rain and drizzle?

Most of UK is better than most of BC, but Victoria beats everything in the UK and there's more variety, and the Okanagan/Kamloops areas are just unreplicable in the UK, even though I prefer Victoria.
