The weather channel has been doing a poor job in the long-range weather outlooks for some time now, I'll believe their forecast outlook after this fall has come and gone

Hahaha, that is true. I'm just wondering how they make their forecasts as it looks like we're rapidly descending into a La Nina and usually the west is a lot cooler than shown in the map.

I'd estimate that <5% of that land area has any sort of UHI influence. If it were all UHI the coast would probably be zone 9b or higher lol.
