Any predictions for the Eastern US for November? It looks like the first week, at least, will be mild (about 8-10 degrees above average). However, just like with September (cool first half, very warm second half) and October (very warm first half, much cooler than average second half), I think we'll see a pattern shift toward the middle of the month.
It's about to drop below freezing at 5000' over the Adirondacks now and looks like there's a lot of moisture still left. Time to keep an eye on Whiteface webcam
I don't see any moisture over the Virginia mountains. Did they bust for snow totals? Nothing showing up on radar right now.
This is within 45 minutes of my house! Snow levels fell to about 2200' in western PA last night, summit is about 3000' at this resort (My house is ~1300'). They got about 3" I think
Holy crap. Timberline is reporting 6"!

I hope I am wrong but...........my gut feeling tells me that if this pattern continues, that the winter of 2017-2018 could be even worse than the winter of 2013-2014 aka brutal cold but with below average precipitation and snowfall, similar to some winters like in the 1980’s I.e. 1984-1985(that winter was cold and dry in Indianapolis), at least the winter of 2013-2014 had record snowfall to make up for all the intense cold.......not likely that such a combination will occur again this year.
Currently 44° as of 1:30. Cold again. Wind has been sort of brutal (even for me). Wind chill hasnt gone above 40 today, and with the 25, 30 mph gusts we have been getting it feels below freeing in the afternoon. Doesn't help that we haven't seen the sun since Friday either.

I predict that November will feature near to slightly above average temperatures and near normal precipitation and snowfall for the Indianapolis area, with the first half of November being much warmer than the second half
