That 25F low is about as legitimate as the 51F high, it only got that cold before midnight. Not very common to have such a late PM low temp here, impressive stuff imo.

But it’s colder than the dead of winter, I’m not a fan. Thankfully it was sunny with relatively calm winds.

Yup, If the front was just 2hrs faster there would be no 1am 50s max yesterday. Funny how that works, right? And if it was 6-10hrs faster the low would of still been in the 20s but come in the morning not late evening

Approximately 2200' where I am. High ridgetop, high enough to feel a constant wind. It's far enough where camp is that water doesn't really regulate the temp.

That's nuts!

My sister lives within that single digit circle as well and I can tell you after visiting I was impressed and intrigued by that area. Elevation was less than 1000' yet it was a cold spot vs surrounding areas.

She said her water was slow to come out so it was freezing up inside the pipes. My bother inlaw had to use a torch to warm them up. Very rural area where little is done to code so the pipes are exposed in the crawlspace. . Lazy up there too.
Yeah Olean is in a deep valley, and for sure. It's annoying that everything is just done in pieces lol

he's not talking about the entire US, none of those facts are incorrect. It was a dramatic shift from stable and unusually warm to stormy (and cold for parts of the midwest) and then cold for Midwest & Northeast

Better dust off the gun as it will be as boring as last fall and winter for us in FL. No upper level support, means no rain and just the same old boring sunshine and warm temps for weeks at a time.
