The mass hysteria is real here today, supermarkets jam packed with people, lots of things out of stock already. NWS already calling for Tropical Storm conditions possible for Friday Night/Saturday.

It hit 90 today. That is the first 90 degree day for OKC since August 22 and the first warmer than normal high since the 19th. I got here on the night of the 22nd, so this is the first time I've felt 90s in Oklahoma since March (yes it hit 90 in March and not again until late May). Interestingly enough, the average highs just dropped below 90 (if you round to the nearest degree). The nice thing about the plains is they cool off relatively fast in the fall. The average high drops to 79 by the end of September, to 68 by the end of October, and all the way down to 55 by the end of November. In Raleigh the average high only drops by 28 degrees in the fall.

Hot day today; temps are around 32C-36C east of Vancouver. Smoke is in SE sections of the lower mainland like Abbotsford and Chilliwack and is slowly moving NE to Metro Vancouver.

Do miss the Polar Express when it finally arrived, but it had only arrived in 2013 (Albany, Oregon was dumped on)! Two years with out a proper winter (at least snow in the Cascades), sucked rotten eggs!
I know that last winter was the coldest in the Portland area since at least the early 90s and I believe they had their coldest January since sometime in the late 70s.

The winter of 2013-14 was fairly cold in Oregon, however up in BC it was warm and dry.

I reckon the summer of 2017 has bought the farm here in southcentral KY/northern middle TN. Highs in the 70s, and lows in the 50s, for the next week. Not a single 80+ forecast. That's classic Octobery weather. I wonder if we've had our last 90 of the year?

Usually we have a bit of lag in summer to fall, fall temperatures don't arrive until mid to late September. But this year the cooler weather of fall seemed to start right on cue around September 1.

As for the high Arctic, Eureka, Nunavut hasn't been above freezing since August 27. Temperatures there are in the 20 F range now. So their "fall" (below freezing, but above-zero temperatures normal) has already started.
