I am SO sorry. Unfortunately it looks like TWC was accurate with their report yesterday. It was supposed to start in Tx and Ok and head eastward. Keep us posted.

No. So far just downtown and the area just to the east of downtown (known as the old 4th Ward and Cabbagetown). TV is reporting extensive damage to the Georgia Dome and the World Congress building. Apparently a section of the dome wall and roof have been ripped away. Several people in the area of Cetennial Olympic Park have been injured and they have declared a level 1 disaster- all medical personell are being called in now.

The video coming in is pretty good. We have cars blown over and one car blown inside a building on Marietta Street.

Not that it's not bad that some people are hurt, but as far as natural disasters go I think it's good there were no fatalities. I've seen some clips from the CNN channel with roof damage, saying some rain is coming inside.

Possible tornado tears through Atlanta
A possible tornado ripped through downtown Atlanta on Friday night, smashing skyscraper windows, sucking furniture and luggage out of hotel rooms, crumbling part of an apartment building and rattling the rafters of two major sports arenas filled with basketball fans. At least 20 people were hurt.

I would think its probably an F1 or less however I haven't seen the news reports or anything but if its only structural damage then no biggie they'll just repair, good thing no one was killed

As soon as I read your original post, I turned the station to TWC, but they were still having their "Storm Stories". CNN had a very good news report of it on. Thankfully, it doesn't sound like anyone lost their life, but a few people were injured.
Sorry cause it's really kind of sad, BUT it was funny when they showed a living room chair lying in the street. It had flown out of someone's apartment.

My thoughts and prayers are with you folks in Georgia and in the Atlanta area. And it's even scarier when this happens in downtown. I hope the tall skyscrapers don't have too much damage. I'm reminded of what happened in Ft. Worth, TX in 2000. One skyscraper got so much damage from a tornado that it had to be sold to another company (switched from office to residential) and redesigned so it could be rebuilt.
