Glad to see some snow for southern Indiana, last year was horrid- nearly zero winter precipitation.

Squall line in Louisiana.
I got 0.60" of rain in digital gauge. A bit of thunder this evening with the storm complex and gusty winds as it arrived.

Still maybe a low chance of a little wintry precip late tonight, but better chances to my north.

NWS Shreveport is saying this for north Louisiana.

Hourly trends were not keeping up with the rapid post frontal CAA
in place so had to lower temperatures a few degrees for the
overnight period which resulted in needing to make some necessary
changes to precip type. Transitioned from rain to light freezing
rain/sleet and/or light snow a little quicker as well in addition
to needing to add the mention of light freezing rain to our
extreme eastern parishes but this would be closer to sunrise or
shortly thereafter if the temperature can get to freezing before
the precipitation exits the region.

Contemplated hoisting a Winter Weather Advisory but the window of
opportunity is very brief if at all before the precip exits our
region to the east. Did make the change from no accumulation to
little if any accumulation expected for the above mentioned areas
and we will continue to monitor the transition when it happens. If
intensities pick up under this strong CAA pattern, then a quick
Winter Weather Advisory may be necessary during the overnight
hours.

^^^^^

Which would essentially mean a record cold and dry winter and an exceptional drought for this spring and summer, at least for us Midwesterners.

Watch the Midwest have the worst of both worlds this winter season, both record dry and record cold. I bet that since La Niña isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, that the Great Plains and Midwest will experience record breaking drought for the entire growing season this year, which would mean that at least the Great Plains finally will conform with being the great American Desert, and the Midwest will merely be barely Semi-Arid.

It ended up reaching 68F today. Also, it got up to 60F last night at 10 PM, so the streak of days failing to reach 60F was 17.

It's not forecast to reach 60F again until the end of next week. Maybe highs in 30's next week!

fast drop tomorrow night; 56°F at sunset tomorrow, 51°F at midnight, 32°F at sunrise on Saturday, 19°F Saturday at sunset. Hopefully all the rainwater will be drain or be absorbed rather than pool and freeze.

Thick fog tonight as the warm, moist air met the cold ground and condesend. Out on my bike briefly just before sunset could feel the temperature drop by 5°F or more whenever I was surrounded by snow
