Had A/C on in car. Sunny and Hot. Max of 74° in my backyard.

5:45pm. Danbury 76°. Bridgeport 61°. Take a 30-40 minute ride and go from mid 70s to low 60s.
I'm usually in the middle of them 2. At 69° right now.

NWS NY had to raise their forecast max for today for some areas.

The airmass over Long Island area not only is record breaking for the day at 14.6°C this morning, but it's never been this warm for entire month of February. (since 1948)

Here a look at the 5000' temps this morning..

That sad face is stuck for weeks for my area. If we don't start getting rain just watch the color coded map for FL for the next 3 months and watch how we dry out with these temps.

Have had flurries all day here. Hasn't stuck to paved surfaces, but most areas have received a tr-3cm on the grass. The clouds/snow has kept temps down; Vancouver has seen a high of -1.3C so far. Looking good for our first subfreezing high of the year and our first since last Feb.

Grocery store had A/C cranking.

Some stats::

Todays Max:

Hartford: 74°: Never had a February that warm since 1905! Feb 1985 hit 73°.
Danbury: 77°: Since 1999 only. There was never a February that hit 70° until last year. Today's max temp......77°
Bridgeport: 63°: Nothing crazy. It hit 67° Feb 1976 & 1997

Boston: 72°: Since 1873 only 3 yrs had 70+. 2017(73°) 2018 (72°) 1985 (70°)

NYC: 78°: Since 1869 never been a max temp over 75° in February.

Newark: 80°: Since 1949 never been a max temp over 76° in February.

Philly: 77°: Since 1874 only 1930 had a higher February temp (79°)

All makes sense since the upper level Heights was the highest on record. SouthEast Ridge be pumping!

Last one...

Current Upper Heights.. Front pushing east but the Ridge will stay in place. Just wont be as strong(hot). Then after this weekend it finally flattens out. Might be one of the warmest 7 days on record for February too. Today will help that.

Current Upper height anomaly. 582 heights over Boston

2pm Temps February 21, 2018. 80s in PA! Mid 70s in Philly and NYC. Dews in the 50s. 60s in NJ and around Philly though.

Here comes the front! Tornado warnings in Louisiana again.

There were tornado warned storms to my west and north today. No warnings at my location, but rainfall was quite heavy. I saw an inch fall while on my lunch break in maybe close to 15 minutes.

I measured 1.77" of rain in my gauge for today. The airport recorded 2.31", most of which fell in an hour. A few totals of 5+ inches to the northwest.
