I'm located just far enough east of Atlanta that I've gotten nothing but cold rain today. This is so depressing. It's been almost four years since I've had measurable snowfall, and seven years since I've had measurable snowfall in December. I get to enjoy a cold December for a change, and I'm about to get left out of all the snow.

Don’t let your guard down just yet, you could still see a measurable snow
I'm about 1 mile outside of downtown Atlanta. We have MAYBE a 1/2in right now. It snowed a bit this morning, mixing with sleet, and around 12:30 changed to all rain. Rained until about 4:30 and changed back to a mix of sleet and snow, now it is all snow. Looks to mostly only be accumulating on grassy areas/decking. Accumulates a bit on the pavement but melts when the snowfall rate slows down. The northern and western suburbs are getting absolutely slammed though, and NW Cobb has been snow all day with no changeover, based on the news reports.
Considering just a couple of days ago it was 70, this is a big shock to the system!
Looks like there may be a major pattern change around Christmas that favors the PNW for cold/snow.
