People who like wide diurnal temperature ranges are in for a treat. Mercury's temperatures ranges from up to 800F/427C during the day to as low as -290F/-180C at night. Days are very long though - about 2/3 of a Mercury year, or 60 Earth days.

I mean I've heard the idea that people could live in craters near the poles, where they would be perpetually shaded from the Sun. I've also heard the idea of a train going around the circumference of the planet perpetually just on the night side. They're somewhat fanciful ideas but not outside of the realm of possibility in the next few centuries.
