Looks like the first frost was on the 27th (34F) and freeze on the 28th (27F). It seems my prediction was a bit pessimistic!

It looks like my prediction of between October 16th and October 31st for the first frost and in some cases the first freeze of the fall season came to fruition, guess that sometimes it is better to be conservative than to be too loose in making a prediction, something deep down told me that the first frost of the season would be earlier than 2016’s insanely late first frost and freeze here in the Indianapolis areafor practical purposes, the first freeze in the Indianapolis suburb of Noblesville occurred a few days ago, while the station commonly used to represent the city of Indianapolis recorded the first frost on the same day that Noblesville dipped below freezing(eagle creek airpark on the city’s northwest side also has seen the first freeze of the season).

We usually see the 1st freeze mid November but I am guessing it will be late November this year. Somewhere around Thanksgiving.

That's closish to climo.
Both happened on October 28th for my area. That's a bit earlier than normal, but nothing too crazy.

First freeze didn't happen yesterday. Low was 33F. Might happen on Sunday (low of 33 in the forecast).
