Jammie, yes, it could happen tomorrow, but I've lived in Dallas 23+ years and Texas all my life and never been in a tornado. (People that are really concerned about it build storm shelters or a "safe room.")

But, no, I wouldn't choose it. I'm not particularly concerned about the tornado aspect, but it's just too hot/humid for my taste! I ended up in Dallas because I married a Dallas native! Of course, Lubbock, Texas (my hometown) is not substantially cooler than Dallas, but it is a little bit cooler and much less humid there. But...Lubbock has nasty sandstorms in the Spring! You haven't lived till you've gotten red grit (sand) in your teeth!

Kay, have you gotten to see that episode? It'll probably run a few times this week.

Oh, and tornadoes don't bother me. I do have a healthy respect for them, but I live in tornado alley, too. Your state and mine are actually tie for the most tornadoes in a day. They gauge it for a 24 hour period, but we'd have actually beat ya cause ours were in about an 8 hour span. Wow, what a thing to be tied for the record on, huh?

Ours is called "Tornado Tuesday" and I don't know what yours is called.

From a stable temp prospect and fishing nearby I would like to try this city if I could not be a migratory creature.

No, I haven't seen that. And yes, I do have a healthy respect for tornadoes too, but I'm not overly concerned about them. If there is one in the area, you do need to pay attention and heed the warnings. We get a lot people fearful about that inquiring on the local Dallas forum about moving here and the incidence of tornadoes. I don't think it's a deal-breaker by any stretch of the imagination about moving here. But then again, I've lived in Texas all my life so maybe I'm just kinda immuned to the threat of it by now. If you live in that kind of area, too, you probably know what I mean. It's just a fact of life and you deal with it if it arises.

Breckenridge. Long winters that hover around freezing with cool to mild summers. Perfect
