That's amazing. Thanks for this. I sent an inquiry to a Valdez site involved in snowfall measurement at Thompson Pass, and this was the response.

"Don't have recent stats but you might want to check with the Valdez Avalanche Center as they kept data for 14/15, 15/16 and 16/17. My records show the lowest amount to be 237" in 96/97. The last two season we may have had less. Lastly, the National Weather Service closed there office in Valdez 2014, so data since then is not very good.

Off the top of my head I don't recall Valdez ever having less the 150" for a season and certainly never less than 99"..."

So, not likely this season won't eventually surpass 2015, but it may be another quite low one compared to the historical record.

Keep bragging! lol. Nice. Looks like you're pulling away... My chances of catching up are diminishing now. Yesterday ruined it. 6 hours of snow falling and nothing accumulated.

But rest assure our snowiest month here is coming up and maybe we can get 1 big blizzard again..

I usually do most snowfall or largest departures... How about this...

Here's a look at the Top 30 largest % departure from normal across the U.S

  • Alma, Georgia normal snowfall to date is 0.1" and they have 3.0" for the season. 2900% above normal.
  • Birmingham Alabama is 700% above normal.
  • Atlantic City is 278% above normal.
  • Raleigh is 192% above normal.
  • Erie is 145% above normal.
  • NYC is 88% above normal.

5 Georgia sites on there.

Keep in mind that some sites don't report the normal snowfall in the CLI reports so they aren't on the list. However they might not be above 85% so they would miss the Top 20 list anyway..
For instance Springfield, MO with 4.5" but nothing reported under normal. Seattle with 3".

Athens, GA received 1.1" of snow on Wednesday, and, thus, 1.1" of snow for the 2017-2018 winter season so far.

This is right in line with what I got in my back yard. I stuck the trusty old yardstick into the snow on the roof of my truck, and it measured exactly 1". Finally, measurable snowfall in my area! The last time that happened was four years ago.
