Those winters are a disgrace, but the sunshine hours (are real? or overestimated like usually in the US?) and Pp are pretty good, and the summers are decent.

A++++
Perfection, that's why. Today's kinda crappy though, its been misting rain. I'll be happier when all this rain turns to snow tomorrow.
We got all 4 seasons here, every one of them is beautiful. We have REAL winters with snow and cold that's perfect for winter activities. What we lack in downhill skiing we make up in ice skating and cross country skiing. Fall colours that can rival parts of the Northeast. The right amount of precipitation. Spring can be hit or miss but when it hits, its a home run. April showers bring May flowers, you know. I love it here, has my ideal climate. Compared to where I grew up, Miami which is like my least favourite climate in the US, this is paradise. Palm trees? Birch please!

Its very sunny in the winter, actually, especially on the frigid days. I'd believe the sunshine hours. Trust me, at my job, we complain about the glare of the sun because we don't have blinds. Winters here are how winters ought to be, imo
It's ok, a decent continental climate with solid winters.
The problem is that it's not cold enough, rarely gets below -25C and many winter days get above freezing. The dominating vegetation in Minnesota is deciduous until you get north of Duluth, after which you mostly get subarctic-looking conifers (obviously better as it indicates lower hardiness). I would definitely prefer Winnipeg for that reason.
No thanks. Today feels like Portland and its just unpleasant. Rain and mist in January? Ugh. I need a good snowfall.
35 and wet is a very rare occurrence in Portland. When it rains, it's more like 46-50. 35 degree temperature in Portland is usually associated with dry weather. I can tell you have never been to the NW in winter. Rain usually feels refreshing and is rarely a hindrance. Very different than midwest or northeast rain. There is a reason a lot of people here don't even own umbrellas. That being said, Minneapolis is an F.

I spent Christmas 2016 in Oregon so unless CHRISTMAS is not a winter holiday to you, yes, I've been in the winter. Rain feels refreshing in the 50s. Its okay in the 40s. Its crap in the 30s. Either way I'd much rather have snow than 45-50 degree rain in the winter anyway. Snow isn't a hindrance either unless its falling really hard and you're driving. My problem with the rain today isn't that it was a hindrance, its just disappointing, plus it made my socks wet. Rain in the 30s chills you more than snow does.
I also never said 36 and raining is an every day thing in Portland in winter, but I think most people would associate that more with Portland in January than Minneapolis, don't you?
And yes, it is an F. As in f***ing amazing!
