Most years it is sunny enough in April and May. During March it is too cloudy for me, however this is helped by the longer, brighter days. April 1986 was slightly too cloudy. Spring is definitely my favourite season, as it doesn't get as hot as it does during the summer and by the time you get to August that lingering feel of Autumn is here.

The record high was in fact 4.1°C, I missed it when I scanned over the records. However the average high of 1.0°C (which is normally the average low) is indeed correct. It was an exceptionally cold month, it was the coldest average maximum temperature of any calendar month since records began in 1973, a record which still stands today. December 2010 had an average high of 2.1°C if that helps.
