I recall reading a fairly recent article (past 2-3 years) where a Russian meteorologist discussed various sun magnetic cycles would align in such away that the solar sun spot cycle might replicate the Maunder Minimum. She predicted this to happen sometime in the 2030s.

So, if the OP means sometime around 15 to 20 years from now, I'm game to consider it.

He's confusing the jet stream and the global ocean conveyor belt.

Super Volcano blow will change things too. In fact, they should throw a nuke into Yellowstone if they are worried about us warming up too much. lol

If the jet stream stops I think its because of a bigger issue and we would be watching it from space as we're swept away. I think you maybe meant persistent blocking? Not actually stopping. The Jet and Upper levels are always in motion.

I urge everyone to play the loops on a daily basis to get an idea how our weather patterns happen. The Jet stream is always waving, digging, and moving.

(Darker colors = stronger Jet winds)

Mini meaning it will be over by spring?

Predicting an ice age without evidence is like predicting global warming and polar melt/ sea levels rising with no evidence. We have SOME evidence suggesting BOTH but all of it is up to interpretation and nobody can honestly say for certain what will happen. Its who pays you to say what and what you can do with the scientific data to doctor it up to support what you want.

It's just really weird. This morning there were absolutely no birds in the garden at the normal time, and then it came to 11 am and there were several buzzards fighting in the garden. The wind swinged round in direction and it got bitterly cold. Just freaked me out, but now I think there is increasing confidence that there will in fact be an 'end' to the cold.

I think you are confusing "weather" with "climate". The upcoming cold snap does not mean there is a mini ice age imminent, unless you class an "ice age" as temperatures several degrees below average & "mini" as lasting a week or so...

Speaking of Jet Stream... fastest winds on record at 34,000 over Albany today. (Since 1948 only)

That is STRONG for that level.

Forget any ice age in our lifetimes. Nothing but more rapid heating.
